Fear Of Negative Opinion

FEAR OF NEGATIVE OPINION or fear of anything… I was walking my dog this morning, when transitioning from one street to the next I felt her pulling away from me. In the distance, I hear a car coming up the road and pull her towards the edge of the road and she still pulls away with force. For about half a second I am thinking she is being defiant. When I pay attention to her actions, she is trying to get away from the sewer drain.

After reading you may say to yourself, ok so your dog is scared of sewers. I like to take an everyday situation and turn them into life lessons. My dog was so focused on what she feared that she did not see the car coming that could have very well hurt her. Could have the sewer hurt her, no! It could have slowed her down in her paw fell through the holes, but in all honesty, nothing else would happen.

FEAR OF NEGATIVE OPINION

We like my dog, we can find ourselves so focused on what we fear can hurt us that we are blinded by the direction we are heading. Those things we fear most, are or rather FEEL real, but are only illusions in our majestic minds. If you fear it, approach it, one step at a time and one day you will realize you have conquered what you once feared.

FEAR OF NEGATIVE OPINION

Never Stop Learning Because Life Never Stops Teaching

Never Stop Learning Because Life Never Stops Teaching

How many people have a memory seared into their brains of one particular mistake made in school or on the job that was simply so mortifying that they never, ever, ever made that same mistake again? In other words, they learned the hard way but they really learned that lesson. For life.

I was listening to an interview last week with Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, in which she was discussing her inspiration for starting the non-profit organization. In short, she was galvanized by the disparity she saw between the way girls and boys were taught to approach risk and potential failure throughout childhood and adolescence. She saw girls being encouraged to strive for perfection, therefore making them less likely to seek out new challenges or activities at which they might fail. She felt that coding, an endeavor that could easily be described as a never-ending series of tweaks, mini-failures, and fixes, was not only a valuable way to “re-train” this failure avoidance in young girls, but also an important step in closing the gender gap in the technology field.

This got me thinking about mistake-driven learning and the importance of having the freedom to safely fail in education. In his recent article, 7 Benefits of Mistake-driven Learning, Christopher Pappas advocates for its advantages in reinforcing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, higher-level learning capacity, and the key role that trial & error + solution reformulation plays in boosting knowledge retention and comprehension. He makes the case that creating an eLearning environment where students are safe to explore consequences to their actions, and then revise their approach based on individual outcomes, is crucial to preparing them for success in the real world.

Never Stop Learning Because Life Never Stops Teaching

In another write-up, the same author talks even more specifically about the benefits of applying Repair Theory, which explains the fundamental role of mistakes in procedure-based learning, to the eLearning design process. By implementing realistic simulations, branching scenarios, and real-time, personalized feedback for eLearners, it is possible to create a learning environment in which students are not only safe to fail and learn from their mistakes but one that also provides contextual layers upon which the learner is able to apply new their knowledge.

One of my recent projects involved the development of online scenario-based case studies for students in health sciences programs. Talk about a field in which rote memorization of processes and procedures will just not cut it! For students in these programs, a thorough understanding built upon a scaffolding of contextual knowledge and interconnected concepts is critical. And so the instructional design of these online cases must create an ecosystem in which the students can immerse themselves in scenarios, use critical thinking skills to make interlinked decisions, and learn from their own mistakes in a safe online environment.

The idea that we learn most effectively from real experience and from our mistakes is applicable in education and in business because it is so deeply rooted in human behavior. No one wants to make mistakes and we all (at some point) shy away from the possibility of failure. But how much better would we be if we could let go of that limiting fear, allow ourselves to be brave enough to try new things and test uncharted waters, in order to then fail fast and become better?

Many of us were raised to base our identity on helping or fixing others. Fixing others is often the addiction of choice for people who have a naturally deep level of empathy and who easily feel others’ pain.

This was one of my major addictions for many years. Deeply feeling my parents’ pain and the pain of others around me was unbearable to me as a child. I thought that if only I could make them happy then I wouldn’t have to feel their pain.

Leslie is struggling with this very issue:

“I am completely attached and addicted to trying to help my sister. I can see now that my health and chronic pain is very much linked to hers – not wanting to be better/healthier than her for fear of rejection abandonment and criticism. If you have any words on how to release the habit of obsessing over others problems and the need to “fix it” before I can be happy and free, would be greatly appreciated.”

Leslie, as I discovered with myself when I started to practice my inner work process, the fear of rejection, abandonment and criticism comes from rejecting, abandoning and criticizing yourself. You are making your sister responsible for whether or not you are okay, which means that you are making her responsible for your feelings. As you learn and practice doing inner work and learn to take loving care of yourself, you will naturally be able to let go of your addiction to fixing her.

undefined

You not only have the right to be happy and free, you also have the responsibility for creating your own happiness and freedom, instead of making your sister responsible for this. As you diligently practice the inner work process and develop your loving adult self and your spiritual connection, you will gradually have an easier time focusing on what you need rather than on what she needs.

Trying to fix her has nothing to do with loving yourself or with loving her. In fact, trying to fix her is very controlling. It took me a long time to understand that fixing others is a form of control, but once I understood this and accepted that my responsibility is to love myself and share my love with others, I was able to let go of fixing.

Sharon has a similar issue:

“How do you conquer unhealthy attachments, or rather, if you had become attached because of fear of abandonment or desire to “fix” (both co-dependent traits), how do you help break those ties and find self love and self trust again? When you are always thinking about the “other” person/breakup/past issues, it is hard to live in the moment and not be overwhelmed with worry, sadness or anxiety.”

Sharon, as an adult, the fear of abandonment comes from self-abandonment – such as judging yourself, staying in your head and ignoring your feelings, turning to addictions, and making others responsible for your feelings. Your worry, sadness and anxiety are telling you that you are abandoning yourself. Self-abandonment comes from the intent to control others and avoid your own feelings, and this is what leads to unhealthy attachments and trying to fix others. As long as you don’t have a strong inner connection with your feeling self – your inner child – and with a personal source of love and wisdom, you will continue to attach to others in unhealthy ways. Like Leslie, you need to learn to love yourself by learning and practicing the inner work healing process.

You CAN heal a ‘fixing others’ addiction by focusing on learning to love yourself rather than continuing to abandon yourself. If I can do it, so can you!

Healthy Competition With Yourself

Healthy Competition With Yourself

Life is not a competition, it never is, it never was, rather it’s a beautiful journey. Whom we are competing with and what for? Is it ourselves we are trying to compete with or with other people? We compete when we come across same traits, and then we try to win, to be the best, but what for; to satisfy ourselves or to satisfy other people who wants us to win? I tried to dig more by considering two scenarios, i.e., competition with ourselves and with other people.

Competition with ourselves: There is a difference between improvement and competition, but the line between them is so thin, that we often take improvement as competition. How can a same person have two similar traits? For example, if one is good at studies, how can he be good at studies “again”; he just improves his forte. Similarly, if one is good at any sport, lets say soccer, how can he compete himself in the same trait; he just works hard to enhance his skills, to satisfy himself or to satisfy his soul. (there are several other similar examples, try reasoning yourself). Therefore, we don’t compete with ourselves, we just keep on upgrading our better version.

Healthy Competition With Yourself

Compete with other people: Two different people can have a same trait or similar qualification or two or more people can excel the same thing. We, compete with the people having similar traits as ours, to win, to be the best. Has anyone ever heard someone saying that, he want to compete only to lose? We compete, only in an attempt to win, just to show that “I am better than you” and when “I” comes, our ego comes along with it. Sometimes, actually many a time, when we start to lose and in order to win, in order to satisfy and feed our ego, we start imitating other’s USP or method and that’s where, when we start to lose “our” originality. We forget that by losing our originality, we can win once or twice by chance/luck, but, we can never be a true winner and it’s actually a lost. So, what’s the point of having a competition if it ruins our originality, or if we cannot be true ourselves or a true winner. If our success or failure doesn’t affect or bother us, then we are actually not competing with anyone, we are just practicing with other people to improve, to upgrade a better version and to satisfy ourself. Anything more than satisfying ourself or getting peace is worthless and temporary.

Don’t try to win because someone wants you to win, as it will be for them and you will never find peace; win by being true self, for yourself without any competition as it will give you eternal peace. Do what you feel like, what makes you happy, what makes you peace with.

Healthy Competition With Yourself

Fear is Not Real It Is a Product Of Our Imagination

Fear is Not Real It Is a Product Of Our Imagination

“Don’t be afraid. You needn’t slay the beast or scale the entire mountain. That’s not how it’s done. You only need to move through today.

Think of the distance you’ve already covered. Focus on your strengths. Let each new step remind you of your freedom. Let your every breath remind you of your power. Seek out friends and guides; they’re anxious to help.

You’re not alone. You’re understood. This road has been walked before. Dance life’s dance, just a few steps at a time, and in the wink of an eye you will wonder to yourself, “What beast, what mountain? Was I having a dream?”

Love you,

The Universe”

Fear is Not Real It Is a Product Of Our Imagination

It has been told by many, especially by inspirational speakers, that there is nothing good into looking to the past or focus too much on it. What happened yesterday has already happened and nothing you can do to change that. Look forward and everything should go as planned. However, this statement can be somewhat contradictory to what I am about to say. How can you measure your accomplishment if you do not look into the past and see where you started from? How can you determine your level of success today as to where you were yesterday, or 6 months ago? How can you move forward in life without a clear path into your future? As an entrepreneur, before you start any business, you need to create yourself a business plan right? You write down the key elements to create yourself a path on how you want to build your business. You write about your strength, your weaknesses, opportunities and threats and add some marketing plan into it as well. Now, 6 months into the future, you read back your business plan to see if you are on the right track or if something needs to be changed because of unforeseen situations that occurred. Isn’t that looking into the path to direct you into the future? Aren’t you focusing on something that was already done to provide you with ideas on a distant future that hasn’t happened yet?

The same goes with the stock market. Investors and brokers look into historical data to predict the future outcome of a specific stock. They look into a past that has happened to create a slim possibility of how the future of this stock can behave. So let me ask you, which is right? Looking into the past to predict the future or forgetting the past and create your own future? The choice is yours. Do whatever you need to do to direct yourself a clear path into your future. Let’s face it, it is yours and no one else right? Personally, I like to see where I am headed by looking on how it all started a few years back. That allows me to stay motivated and to move forward NO MATTER what.

Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

The dictionary defines affirmations as, “statements, which affirm something to be true.” In simple terms, positive affirmations are positive phrases, which you repeat to yourself and which describe how you want to be.

The theory of this practice dictates that when you repeat affirmations as if they were already a reality (when they are not) the message seeps deep into the subconscious mind, so you really start to believe them, and eventually they will become your reality. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

At first, you should state the phrase(s) intentionally, to counter any negative thoughts that creep into your mind. Over time, the phrases should occur naturally, without you having to intentionally think about them. At this point, the phrases become part of your subconscious, part of your very mentality, which has a tremendous effect on your life and wellbeing.

How To Use Positive Affirmations

Select affirmation phrases that are only 4-5 words long so that you won’t forget them. Make them present, positive, and personal.

In staying present, use “I am… ” instead of “I will be… ”

In staying positive, make sure the phrase is uplifting. Examples could be “I like my artistic side” and “I am successful” and “I love myself.”

Lastly, in staying personal, use phrases whenever possible that directly apply to your unique skills and qualities.

For example, “I paint landscapes beautifully” and “I organize my time well.”

It is best to only pick 1-3 phrases that you can really focus on per day, because you should be repeating the same phrase to yourself repeatedly.

The phrase(s) should be related to anything particular that you are struggling with that day or doubting yourself about. The phrase(s) may not change for days or weeks at a time, until you are able to truly believe them and they become one with your subconscious.

The best time to use the affirmations is when you are not busy with other tasks. Spend 5-10 minutes repeating the phrase(s) to yourself, either mentally or out loud if no one is around you. Do this first thing in the morning and multiple times during the day, as you are able.

Make it a habit to also say them as you are trying to fall asleep. Make sure you are relaxed when you begin. Try taking deep breaths before you start, and concentrate on the words as you are saying them.

Go one-step further and visualize the phrase in your mind as you say it. This helps to integrate the phrase into your subconscious.

How Positive Affirmations Affect Your Wellbeing

Research shows that positive affirmations improve your well-being. Specifically, positive affirmations can do the following things in your life:

Build Your Confidence – As the positive phrases become implanted in your subconscious, you will come to think more highly of yourself and your self-esteem and confidence will grow.

Empower You To Accomplish Your Goals – As your confidence grows, you will trust more in your capabilities and be able to successfully reach your goals. The visualization technique previously mentioned helps with this too, because if you envision what your life looks like when you have obtained a specific goal, then it will be easier to motivate yourself to work towards it. One great example of this is weight loss, as studies have shown affirmations to have positive effect on success in people losing weight versus subjects who did not employ the technique.

Lead To Prosperity – You will find yourself more successful in your career, in your relationships and in your personal life when you live life with a positive mentality.

Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

Lead To Romance – Whether you have long doubted your abilities to sweep another person off their feet, or you have been in a relationship that you view as mediocre, this will all change with a new attitude. When the positive affirmations change your mentality, which changes your outlook on life, you will have the confidence to sweep someone off of their feet or to re-invigorate your current relationship. You will be a much happier person, and that happiness will flood into your romantic life.

Heal Your Mind And Body – Research studies show a strong connection between the mind and body. People with a positive mentality control their stress and blood pressure better and demonstrate a stronger resiliency against disease. They also have effective coping skills when dealing with life’s maladies that make them resilient and well equipped to deal with stressful situations and come out on top, instead of succumbing to the pressure.

Can Be Applied To Any Situation – No matter the personal struggle, applicable affirmations can be created and applied.
You can achieve all of these things with positive thinking. It all starts with affirmations that are present, positive and personal. Never underestimate the power of positive words!

Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

The Home Based Business For The Entrepreneur

The Home Based Business For The Entrepreneur

INTRODUCTION

Perhaps I should start by asking the question “What is a Home Based Business? This is any business operated from the comfort of the residential home of the owner.

The next question is who is a Home Based Business owner? This refers to an Entrepreneur who decides to run his business from the comfort of his home.

I decided to clarify these terms because there is a huge difference between a Home Based Business owner and a Home worker who might be working with a government/private organization but decides to be working from home once or twice during the week.

The Home Based Business For The Entrepreneur Evolution of Home based Business

Many businesses operated from home usually start as a Micro or Small Enterprise. Some eventually metamorphose into Medium Scale Enterprise and others eventually grow into quite large companies.

The desire by Entrepreneurs to start operating businesses from home actually started in the 1980s. During this period, a lot of things combined to precipitate this massive desire by people to own Home based businesses.

In the main, the combination of many factors like socio- economic change, improved technology and new management thinking resulted in the loss of otherwise permanent paid employment and this encouraged people to attempt to revalidate their freedom by opting to set up a business at home.

The advent of new management thinking and theories like downsizing to make an organization Lean and more agile and efficient created fears in the mind of the average worker

So mass lay- offs helped create the right environment for some workers to go it alone and set up a Home based business.

The period of late 1990 to 2010 can be appropriately described as the period of massive explosion in the establishment of businesses at home. The use of Computer, Internet and Mobile Technology helped in the growth of this idea.

I strongly believe the idea of setting up business at home will continue to be positive and will remain so for a long time.

The continued upsurge in the desire of people to own businesses has attracted the attention of Universities and other higher institutions. They have responded by introducing different courses and programs on Entrepreneurial studies to cater for these needs.

Unlike earlier belief that businesses run from home are not well managed and don’t make good money, the present situation is that many Entrepreneurs motivated to set up business at home now have college degrees including a lot of high level professionals with business exposure.

The entrepreneurial spirit is innate in all of us and we only need to be adequately motivated to take the necessary action.

It’s really an exciting world out there.

The Home Based Business For The Entrepreneur

THE HOME BASED BUSINESS EXPLOSION

As stated earlier, though the crave for running businesses from home started way back in the 1980s, what can be termed the explosion of this way of doing business was between the late 1990s and the first decade of the new millennium.(2010+)

This coincided with the time when the setting up of a Home based business became a Fad. According to Mr Lewis of the National Association of Home Based Businesses, Home based business in the United States grew from about 6 million in 1984 to 23 million by 2007.

With the help of modern technology like computers, mobile phones, printers and the huge power of the internet, more work is being done virtually than ever before and more global businesses are routinely being run from home.

According to the 2012 GEM report, 69 percent of American entrepreneurs start their business at home from either a spare room in the house, the dining table or from the garage. The report further revealed that more than 50 percent of entrepreneurs continue to operate from home even after the business has taken off successfully and stabilized.

Again according to Mr. Lewis of the National Association of Home Based Businesses, his own companies do training in 20 countries, import eyeglass frames from China and also develop condominiums.

Mr. Nuyten of the Home Based Business Statistics in America quoted the following statistics as at 2012:

38 million Businesses were operating from residential homes in America

A new business is started from home every 12 seconds in the United States

The Home Based Business sector in the United States earned Four Hundred and Twenty Seven billion dollars.

It revealed that 70 percent of Americans would like to be self- employed.

Entrepreneurship has become entrenched in the psyche of the average person. The Baylor University study of 2005 revealed then that more than 5 million jobs had been lost in Fortune 500 companies since 1980 while 34 million were created in small businesses.

The United States Census Bureau data of October 2012, also revealed that the number of businesses being operated from home have been on the rise since 1999.

The United Kingdom Experience

The continued growth in the Home based business sector appears to be a global phenomenon as the report from the United Kingdom will show shortly.

The United Kingdom department of Business, Innovation and Skills released a report titled ” Backing for Home Business” which revealed that 2.9 million home based businesses in the United Kingdom contributed 300 billion pounds sterling to the UK economy. The report also stated that 70 percent of all new businesses in the United Kingdom started from home.

According to Home Business report compiled by Enterprise Nation, 1,400 new businesses are started from home each week.

This report also confirmed that out of a total of 4.5 million small and medium enterprises, 2.1 million are Home based businesses.

Factors contributing to the growth of Home Based Businesses

There are many factors motivating people to set up Home based businesses such as:

.Losing one’s job
Being laid off in a time of economic downturn could be very devastating. With difficulty in getting new job offers, the next best thing would be to start a Home based business.

Flexible lifestyle
You are your own Boss. Literally, you can come and go as you please. You maintain better work/family balance. There are no set opening and closing times. You go for lunch and vacation when you feel like

.Reduction in Stress level
The daily commuting, especially with the present heavy fuel costs is avoided. Also those train/bus rides to and from work with all sorts of characters is avoided.

No corporate office politics
You are not thinking of how to always please the boss and climb the corporate ladder. You don’t have to engage with difficult colleagues. Best of all, there are no dress codes.

Cheaper start up and running costs
It’s cheaper to set up a Home based business. A serious entrepreneur can get started with just $5,000. The main requirements could just be a computer, mobile phone, printer and a good internet connection. No rent of physical store space.

Secondary Income
Some entrepreneurs set up business at home to bring in extra income to support a day job. Some people start the business as a part time hobby. Eventually the business may become very successful and the entrepreneur will now take the decision to resign from the day job.

Be your own boss
You are your own boss. You have the freedom to do things the way you want. There is nobody breathing down your neck reminding you of targets.

Job dissatisfaction
An otherwise loyal employee may become unhappy with the company for lack of promotion and motivation. The next thought is to set up a Home based business.

Opportunity to achieve Self actualization
Having your own business gives you the opportunity to make as much money as you desire. This of course depends on how much money you want to make and the amount of time and effort you decide to invest in the business.

Advantages of running a business from home

The desire to get out of the rat race, avoid the daily grind coupled with the power of modern technology make telecommuting more productive.

Together with some of the factors already mentioned above, listed below are more advantages:

Tax advantages
You can deduct some of your expenses as business expenses. These could be utility bills, insurance, mortgage and property tax.

Opportunities for Professional improvement
It is safe to assume that with the day to day running of your business, you will develop more business management skills.

Multiple streams of Income
With more time to yourself and the freedom to follow your lead, you can decide to explore other areas of interest and create multiple streams of income.

Disadvantages of running a business from home.

In spite of the almost glamorous attraction of Entrepreneurship, there are some disadvantages which must be effectively managed in order to improve the chances of success.

.Irregular Income
For some one that had been used to regular pay checks, having to go through some weeks without income could be a huge challenge.

Lack of adequate space
This could arise where work sometimes spills into the home space

Nearness of Family and Friends
The nearness of family and friends could become a distraction if not properly managed.

Lack of Fringe benefits
Fringe benefits like health and dental insurance and paid vacations which were hitherto being enjoyed in paid employment are no longer available.

Friction with neighbors
The type of business you are involved in could create friction with neighbors due to noise pollution and lack of packing space

Health Issues
Staying glued to the computer screen and in a small space may affect health and fitness. So try and create time for exercise and recreation.

CONCLUSION

So as the French would say Voila! There you are! The idea of starting a business at home has become engraved in the mind of people. Every day, people are starting thousands of businesses in their residences all over the world.

Though there are disadvantages in running a business from home, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

Some industry watchers believe that crave for setting up businesses at home is waning and the general trend could be heading downwards.

However, I personally believe that the trend can only continue northwards. Why? Because I see all the indices still pointing positive. The factors that motivate people to set up Home based business are still very much around. There are still massive lay- offs going on in many companies and workers are still feeling short changed by employers.

To crown it all, the technological tools like Computers, Mobile Phones, Printers and the Internet which assist Home Based Business owners to work smarter and achieve more with lesser effort are still evolving.

Therefore I’m of the view that the trend of setting up businesses at home is still on the upward swing.

So, how about you? What do you think? Is the trend moving up or going down.

Let’s have your thoughts. The Home Based Business For The Entrepreneur

10 Email Marketing Best Practices

10 Email Marketing Best Practices

Needless to say that email marketing is one of the most effective channels which allow delivering the necessary information to customers and increasing sales. But it is only possible if you know how to do this. Any email campaign can crash and have a long negative influence due to improper organization. Further, we will take a closer look at email marketing and identify the most important aspects of making this channel as effective as possible.

If you have client’s email that means you are able to send your message. It sounds very clear, but it is necessary to remind that an email inbox is a private online environment, so when you send emails to someone you actually invade their personal space. People use e-mails for different purposes.

1. Segment clients to offer useful and relevant content

Of course, you do not know each customer well enough to prepare a special offer according to their specific requirements but you can create the segments. The more thorough your approach to clients’ segmentation is – the more effective the email campaign becomes. In other words, proper segmentation is the key to success.

2. Use personalization

Personalized emails present one of the most effective ways to catch the attention of your recipients. It’s not a guarantee, but at least you have a chance to make the email more eye-catching. If you have a good clients’ database you can make your message more personal. Of course, in this case the probability that the messages will be read is higher. There are a lot of email services that allow including several personal fields in the email templates and automatically send emails to each recipient.

3. Think carefully about a subject line

The subject line is a very important element because it influences the opening of the email. It is hard to advise what text should be there but your task is to catch recipient’s interest. There are some tips:

  • Keep in mind that emails with personalization in the subject lines have 26% higher unique open rate than emails without personalization.
  • 33% of email recipients open email based on the subject line only and 66% of the recipients mark the email as SPAM after only reading the subject line, as well.
  • The word “you” in the email subject line causes such emails to be opened 5% less often than the emails without this word.
  • The word “Free” in the subject line has positive effect and such emails are opened 10% more often.
  • The word “Tomorrow” in the subject line can attract users and such emails are opened 10% more often.
  • The word “newsletter” has negative effect and causes 18.7% decrease in open rates.
  • The word “alert” causes 61.8% increase in open rates.
  • The words “Sale”, “New” or “Video” in subject lines have positive effect and can increase open rates.

4. Use all possible services and tools for automation

Most of eCommerce platforms allow you to automate various processes including sending emails. For example, you can identify abandoned carts users and plan special communication with them through email. You can remind them that the product that was chosen is still in the cart and available in stock, so it is possible to buy it. The main point here is that you have to plan this activity and don’t do it chaotically. If you send remaindering e-mails every week, it is most likely annoying and has a negative influence.

10 Email Marketing Best Practices

There are a lot of tools which allow you to work with your leads. Such approach guarantees that you methodically stay in contact with your potential customers and send them special/personalized content. You can be sure that you will not leave any client without your attention. There are some examples of the segments where automation can help:

  • Abandoned cart reminders
  • Reminders according to the search history
  • Reminders according to the previous purchases

5. Use URL builder tool and include such links in the email template

If you add unique campaign indicators to your URLs in the email, this will allow you to analyze results more effectively. The Google URL builder tool can help you to do this. When users click on one of your links in the e-mail, the unique indicators are sent to your Google Analytics account, so you can see how many recipients clicked on your links and determine the URLs that are most efficient in attracting recipients in the email message.

6. Add relevant images to your email

The general idea is that one well-chosen picture is worth 1000 words. When a user opens the message, with a very high probability they will stop reading it in the first three or five seconds. The relevant images help the user to understand the general idea in a very short time and, if it is interesting, to continue reading the content of the email.

7. Take care of the people who will read an email on a mobile device

Do you know that 40% of emails are opened on mobile devices first and an average mobile screen can only display 4-7 words? The number of such users is going to rise, so it is important to care about responsive design in your email marketing strategy.

8. Think carefully about a Call-to-Action

After expending time for the planning of an email campaign, many merchants forget to include a very significant element – Call-to-Action (CTA). Without this the email message is not complete. The reader should understand what to do, so such words as “Buy”, “Register”, “Order” give accurate directive to the next step. Keep in mind that several CTAs can frustrate or mislead your recipients, so it is better to avoid such approach and create one clear Call-to-Action.

9. Organize A/B Testing of an email template

A/B Testing allows checking different versions of a prepared email template to understand how minor changes can affect the perception of content and consequently affect the results. You need to choose the elements you’d like to test. It can be the subject line or personalized elements, changes in the text and so on. Usually several short lists of recipients are created for testing. After sending them different versions of your email, you can compare results and choose the winner.

10. Be prepared for the results and a significant positive effect

Of course, there is statistics for different industries about a number of feedbacks you can expect. But it is only statistics. In real life, the most positive marketing effect of the campaign can give a negative result, because the company was not prepared to satisfy so many clients. After the campaign has been completed, you can get a lot of calls or email requests and orders that need to be answered. Online store staff should be prepared to work more. Increasing of sales may cause logistic service to be overloaded. You need to plan reserves in stock to be able to sell more. Otherwise, even the most efficient campaign may fail due to the fact that the online store is not not ready for this.

In conclusion, we’d like to point out that email marketing can’t “work” alone. It is only one of the channels to communicate with the clients and a part of the marketing strategy. Marketing is a system and each element of the system affects the result. Only a systematic approach to marketing activities of online store can guarantee successful development.

How Blogging Can Help Your Business

How Blogging Can Help Your Business Since blogging is not that simple, and search engines are policing all of your efforts, should a business maintain a section of blogs on their website? The answer is yes. Your site is more than likely to appear higher within the SERPs (search engine result pages) if you’re maintaining a blog than if you do not. And these results are vital now that more individuals are turning to the Web to make purchases and obtain information.

Why is “appearing higher” within the search engine results critical? Consider how you consume information. Do you scroll through all search engine results you get as you conduct a search, or, do you select from the results on page one, with close attention to the results discovered at the top of that page?

If you remain at the top of page one of results, you are like 95% of Internet users out there. As a matter of fact, individuals typically joke that the ideal place to discover a dead body is on the second page of Google. Therefore, where is your blog located on the list of search results? Do you usually come in first place within the search results? Or 400th? It’s referred to as page rank. The more traffic the blog generates, the more engaging the blog’s content it is, the more shares and likes it’ll receive, the higher you’ll rank. And this means more individuals will locate your site; services, products, blog – everything!

How Often You Should Write Blogs

Do not stress yourself over it, just begin somewhere. One time per month is better than nothing at all. Once per week is better than once per month, and once per day is better than once per week. Do what you can. The more you create content, the easier it’ll become – not to forget the increased quantity of leads you’ll produce from doing so.

What to Write About

As you begin the blog, create content about your business. Create content about your customers. Create content about your products. Create content about your failures, successes, and lessons learned. Plus, if you dare, create content about some intriguing stories pertaining to how you decided to be an entrepreneur.

How Blogging Can Help Your Business

Personal stories of your business success, as well as how you did it, assist your brand in becoming relatable. That is crucial. In today’s world of business, a small business is merely a couple of poor Yelps from oblivion. On the other hand, your business is a couple of fantastic reviews from success.

Outsourcing the Writing

You may have expert bloggers do the writing for you. You may pay them to write content which might appeal to your readers. This process will fall under content marketing.

How Many Blogs Should You Have?

The quality of the blogs greatly matters. However, size also matters. Within a perfect world, you should blog more frequently than the competition, and you should have more posts in your blog than the competition has. That way, the search engines see that your site is more robust and active than the competitions’ websites. Also, more blogs mean there are that many more opportunities for your site to be found when individuals perform Internet searches.
